School Rewards Scheme
A rewards system is in operation across the whole school and these are summarised in the Sections below.
House Points awarded in lessons contribute to both the individual’s and the House total. These are reported home to parents each term. All other House points do not go towards the individual, but contribute to the overall House total.
House Challenges & House Points
Over the course of the year, students are expected to take part in a number of team and individual house challenges. All students are expected to take part in the Headteacher’s challenge every half term. The house challenges are as follows:
- Heads of House run a fortnightly challenge.
- Headteacher challenge is once every half term and all students are expected to take part.
- Subject Departments will host challenges throughout the year.
Points are awarded as follows:
Form Group Rewards
Forms in each year group also contribute weekly to the house system as follows:
- Highest attendance - 100 points
- Fewest behaviour points - 100 points
- Fewest lates - 100 points
- 100% attendance per student per week - 10 points
Individual Rewards
Individual awards, accompanied by a certificate, are given to students who demonstrate the school values throughout the year. These points are awarded to the student and contribute to the House total. At the end of each term all the recipients of individual awards enter a draw for a monetary voucher.
Staff Individual Rewards
Staff can allocate individual achievement points when they believe a student has demonstrated one of the core values.
When students achieve 100 core value house points given against one value, they are awarded a core value badge. Students should aim to ‘complete the set’ by the end of Year 13 to enter our Hall of Fame.
Bishopshalt Student Awards
During their time at Bishopshalt, students can work towards receiving the following lapel badges in recognition of their achievements.
