Key Stage 4

Our Key stage 4 curriculum allows students to achieve 9 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications. We have a focus on the academic and core subjects whilst still offering students the freedom to choose from a range of  creative and practical subjects. We value the languages and recognise their importance in supporting our students' development as well as their potential to compete on the world stage. We have an exceptional Modern Foreign Languages department and all students study a language for GCSE. We also believe that the rigour of the EBacc qualification is beneficial and, therefore, the majority of students are on this programme.

All students will have the opportunity to choose two options. Students are supported and guided by the school to ensure that they make the best choices to ensure each child has the greatest opportunity to succeed. 

We believe that secondary school is a 7 year journey, and, to that end, a lot of work is completed throughout Key Stage 4 to prepare our students for the academic jump to Key Stage 5 studies.
